India is the world’s second largest online market in the world . As online platforms become more accessible, convenient, and inclusive, consumers’ expectations for superior digital experiences remain a priority. 81% consumers said that a positive online experience makes them think more highly of the brand.

Experian surveyed 6,000 consumers and 2,000 businesses across 20 countries, including India, the United Kingdom, the United States, and other APAC markets on information related to consumer and business economic outlooks, financial well-being, online behaviour and more. This report is the latest study in a series exploring the significant shifts in consumer digital preferences and business strategy over the past seven years.

Here are key highlights from the report:

  • 38% consumers feel there is a gap between their expectations and the digital experience businesses can offer
  • 30% of consumers said that they have been victims of online identity theft
  • 41% consumers are ‘highly concerned’ with online transactions and activities
